Duluth, MN – Residents in Duluth and northeastern Minnesota should prepare for continued light snow and frigid temperatures through the week. The National Weather Service forecasts highs near 16°F today, dropping to single digits overnight, with more snow flurries expected on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Ashland and Iron counties will see light snow showers continuing into Wednesday, although no significant accumulation is expected. Winds out of the northwest at 5-10 mph will keep wind chills well below freezing, creating hazardous conditions for outdoor activities.
Looking ahead, temperatures will rise slightly Thursday, with highs reaching the low 20s. However, another weak system will bring chances of light snow Thursday night into Friday. Highs Friday will approach 25°F before dipping into the low teens overnight. The weekend will remain cold, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures peaking near 23°F Saturday.
Drivers are urged to stay cautious, particularly on Highway 2 and other major roadways, as patchy flurries may reduce visibility. Pedestrians and outdoor enthusiasts should dress warmly to protect against wind chills and frostbite risk.
The region should not expect significant snow accumulations, but the consistent cold could lead to icy spots on untreated roads and sidewalks. Stay updated with your local weather forecast and prepare for minor travel delays.
