Albuquerque, NM – Light snow is set to blanket parts of New Mexico, bringing freezing temperatures and potentially slippery road conditions through Wednesday morning. Motorists traveling along I-40 should prepare for reduced visibility and icy stretches, particularly in higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow showers are expected to begin tonight between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., with wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Temperatures will drop to a low of 20°F tonight, with snow continuing intermittently into Wednesday morning. Though accumulation is expected to remain minimal in Albuquerque, localized areas may see heavier snowfall.

Wednesday’s high will reach 40°F with partly sunny skies, but overnight temperatures will plunge to 18°F, increasing the risk of icy roads. Drivers are urged to allow extra time for commutes and check road conditions before heading out.

Looking ahead, Thursday brings a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 2 p.m., with temperatures climbing to 43°F. Breezy conditions will persist, with northeast winds at 15 mph. Friday offers relief, with sunny skies and a high of 40°F.

Residents in northern New Mexico and mountain areas should stay vigilant, as snowfall may be more significant there. For real-time weather updates, visit the National Weather Service website or check local advisories.

Be sure to bundle up and exercise caution during travel. Snow may be light, but freezing temperatures and high winds can still pose significant hazards.
