Iowa-Illinois Weather: Cold Mornings and Light Snow Expected in Quad Cities This Week

Moline, IL – Residents across the Quad Cities can expect a seasonably cold week with mostly dry conditions, but a chance of light snow on Friday morning could disrupt plans. Temperatures will remain in the 20s for most of the week, with overnight lows dropping into the single digits and teens.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high will reach 26°F under partly sunny skies. Tonight, clouds will decrease as temperatures drop to 10°F, making for a frigid Wednesday morning. Winds will remain light, ranging from 5 to 10 mph throughout the week.

Wednesday will bring abundant sunshine but colder conditions, with a high of 22°F and wind chill values near zero early in the day. By Thursday, temperatures will recover slightly, hitting 26°F under mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will remain in the teens, with mostly cloudy conditions expected.

The first significant weather event of the week arrives Friday morning, as forecasters predict a 30% chance of light snow before noon. Highs will climb to 29°F, but early commuters should exercise caution on potentially slick roadways, especially along I-74 and other major corridors.

Looking ahead to the weekend, conditions will improve with partly sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday. Highs will hover near 29°F, making for a cold but pleasant weekend.
