Pittsburgh, PA – Dangerous winter conditions are gripping parts of Pennsylvania as a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Wednesday morning. Drivers are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, with roads and bridges becoming slick and visibility dropping below 1/4 mile in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service, snow and strong wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected to continue affecting eastern Preston, Tucker, and western Tucker counties. Additional snow accumulation of up to one inch is forecast, making travel hazardous. Residents are urged to winterize their vehicles and prepare for sudden changes in visibility, especially on hills, turns, and highways like I-68.

The extended forecast shows persistent cold temperatures. Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy skies and highs near 25°F, with a 30% chance of light snow showers continuing into the night. Thursday offers a brief respite with partly sunny skies and a high near 24°F, but temperatures will plunge to 7°F overnight. Friday will remain frigid, with highs of 26°F, followed by another round of potential snow Friday night.

Residents should prepare for ongoing icy conditions through the weekend, as Saturday’s high will barely reach 31°F with snow likely. Stay indoors when possible and dress in layers if venturing outside.
