Cheyenne, WY – Snowfall has blanketed parts of southeast Wyoming, with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday. Travelers on Interstate 80, particularly near the summit between Cheyenne and Laramie, are urged to use caution as slippery conditions and snow accumulation create hazards.

According to the National Weather Service, snow totals are expected to reach 2 to 4 inches, with higher amounts near the summit. Icy conditions are likely to impact bridges, overpasses, and roadways, making the morning commute dangerous. Authorities advise motorists to slow down and allow extra travel time. Pedestrians should exercise caution on stairs and sidewalks, as icy patches could lead to injuries.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for clearing skies by late morning, with temperatures peaking near 23°F. Winds will remain light at 5 to 10 mph, though the wind chill could dip below zero in the early hours.

Looking ahead, sunny weather is expected Wednesday, with a high near 33°F. However, another system may bring snow chances Wednesday night and Thursday, accompanied by blustery conditions. The five-day forecast predicts more snow and breezy weather into the weekend.
