Billings, MT – Drivers in southern Montana should brace for slick conditions Tuesday morning as a winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Beartooth and Red Lodge Foothills until 5 a.m.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has reported ongoing snowfall in the area, with an additional accumulation of up to two inches expected overnight. Roads, including those near Fishtail, Nye, and Red Lodge, are anticipated to be slick and snow-covered. Residents are urged to slow down, exercise caution, and call 511 for the latest road conditions.
According to the NWS, light snow will taper off Tuesday morning, with patchy fog lingering through mid-morning. The high temperature is expected to reach 31°F with calm winds, offering a brief reprieve before the next round of winter weather arrives midweek.
Looking Ahead: Midweek and Weekend Forecast
Wednesday brings a 30% chance of snow showers after 2 p.m., with blowing snow possible as winds increase to 25 mph. Overnight lows will dip to 23°F, accompanied by gusty conditions and light snow accumulation.
Thursday will see mostly sunny skies and milder weather, with highs near 35°F. However, another disturbance could bring a mix of snow and rain Friday evening into Saturday. The weekend highs will hover near 37°F, with additional snow likely through Sunday.
