Denver, CO – Colorado residents should brace for hazardous travel conditions as a winter storm moves through the region tonight. Snowfall is expected to accumulate between 3 and 7 inches across Denver, surrounding suburbs, and the southern foothills, creating treacherous conditions for Tuesday morning commuters.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 11 p.m. Monday through noon Tuesday. Heavy snow will develop overnight, with the heaviest accumulation likely between midnight and 6 a.m. Major highways, including I-25 and I-70, are expected to see slick and icy conditions during peak travel hours.

Motorists are urged to allow extra time for travel, reduce speeds, and maintain a safe following distance. Plows will be active, but rapidly falling snow could limit visibility and cause delays. Residents are also advised to monitor local forecasts for updates and use caution when navigating untreated roads.

Five-Day Weather Outlook:

Monday Night: Snow, low of 21°F, accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday: Snow likely in the morning, tapering off by noon. High of 23°F.

Wednesday: Sunny and cold, high of 38°F, low of 13°F.

Thursday: Cloudy with a 50% chance of snow, high of 34°F.

Friday: Mostly sunny and milder, high of 36°F.

Prepare for lingering icy patches and colder-than-average conditions throughout the week. Stay updated by checking local weather reports and road conditions at COtrip.org before heading out.
