Sacramento, CA – Northern California residents are preparing for a Wind Advisory set to take effect tonight at 10 p.m. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, warns of northeast to east winds ranging from 25-35 mph, with gusts reaching 55 mph in lower areas and 70 mph over Sierra Nevada peaks.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will last until 7 a.m. Wednesday. Strong gusts could create hazardous driving conditions along Interstate 80 and nearby roadways, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, as loose objects may become airborne. Tree damage and power outages are possible.
Tuesday’s weather in Sacramento will be mostly sunny, with a high near 61°F. Winds will persist during the day, reaching 13-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. By Tuesday night, winds will ease slightly but remain gusty at 11 mph, with a low near 41°F.
Looking ahead, Wednesday and Thursday will bring calmer conditions with clear skies and highs of 59-61°F. Overnight lows will hover around 38-40°F. Dry, sunny weather will continue through Friday, providing some relief after the windy start to the week.
