Winter Weather Advisory Hits Denver Suburbs: Up to 6 Inches of Snow Possible

Denver, CO – Northern Colorado residents should prepare for snowfall starting tonight as a Winter Weather Advisory takes effect. The advisory impacts cities including Denver, Fort Collins, and Loveland, with accumulations ranging from 1 to 6 inches depending on location.

The National Weather Service states snow will begin around 6 p.m. Monday in Larimer and Weld counties, lasting until 8 a.m. Tuesday, with total accumulations up to 3 inches. A separate advisory covers the Denver metro and southern foothills, where snowfall is expected between 11 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday, with localized totals of 6 inches possible on the Palmer Divide.

Roads will likely be slick, particularly during the Tuesday morning commute. Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time and check conditions via Colorado’s 511 service or cotrip.org.

Localized impacts include slippery sidewalks and reduced visibility. Residents should shovel early to avoid ice buildup.
