Morristown, TN – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of East Tennessee and southwest Virginia today from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday. Snowfall of 1-3 inches is expected, with up to 4 inches possible in higher elevations.

The advisory includes cities such as Gatlinburg, Mountain City, Erwin, and Castlewood. According to the National Weather Service, slick and hazardous conditions are likely, particularly on bridges and overpasses. The Monday evening commute could be significantly impacted by icy roads.

Residents are urged to slow down, exercise caution while driving, and prepare for delays. Those walking outside should be vigilant, as sidewalks and driveways may be slippery and increase the risk of falls.

This winter weather system could affect mountain tourism and local activities. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check weather updates and delay non-essential travel if possible.

Stay prepared by monitoring local news and stocking up on winter supplies. Be sure to secure your home and keep vehicles ready for snowy conditions.
