Peachtree City, GA – A wind advisory is in effect for parts of central and north Georgia until 10 a.m. Monday. Gusts of up to 35 mph are expected overnight, potentially causing power outages and downed tree limbs. Residents are urged to secure loose items and exercise caution while driving.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, the strongest winds will occur from midnight through the early hours of Monday. Areas including Atlanta, Griffin, and Blue Ridge face an 80-90% chance of gusts over 35 mph during this time. Winds will gradually subside by late Monday afternoon, but gusts could still reach up to 30 mph in some areas.

Tonight’s forecast also includes showers, with temperatures dropping to 45 degrees by midnight. Rainfall amounts are expected to range between a quarter and half an inch. On Monday, temperatures will fall steadily, reaching the mid-30s by the evening.

The rest of the week brings calmer conditions. Tuesday will be sunny with highs near 43, followed by clear and cold nights, with temperatures dipping into the low 20s. Wednesday and Thursday remain dry and sunny, providing some relief after a stormy start to the week.

Residents should check local updates for potential road closures or power disruptions. Emergency crews recommend keeping flashlights and charged devices on hand in case of outages.
