Nashville, TN – Snow showers and freezing conditions are set to sweep across Middle Tennessee starting late Sunday night into Monday. Residents are urged to prepare for possible icy roads and hazardous travel during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, light snow showers are expected after midnight, tapering off by noon on Monday. Overnight temperatures will plunge to 29 degrees, with wind gusts up to 25 mph creating a biting wind chill. Accumulations are expected to be light, but slippery spots are likely on untreated roads and elevated surfaces, especially during early travel hours.

Monday’s high will struggle to reach 36 degrees, and a mix of cold air and gusty winds will make conditions feel much colder. The week ahead will remain frigid, with daytime highs mostly in the 30s and nighttime lows dipping into the teens. Wednesday night is forecasted to be particularly cold, with lows around 16 degrees.

Later in the week, another weather system could bring accumulating snow Friday night into Saturday morning. The system is still being monitored, but forecasters caution it could significantly impact travel across Middle Tennessee.

Residents should monitor updates and consider delaying travel during hazardous conditions. Stay tuned for the latest weather alerts and ensure vehicles and homes are winter-ready.
