Pueblo, CO – Drivers in eastern Colorado should prepare for hazardous conditions Sunday morning as light snow and fog reduce visibility. The US National Weather Service warns of slick roads on US 50 and other major routes, urging caution while traveling.
According to the National Weather Service, conditions will improve later today, with highs reaching 31°F under mostly sunny skies. However, gusty winds may continue to cause localized blowing snow. Looking ahead, temperatures will climb to 42°F on Monday before snow returns Monday night, with accumulations of up to three inches expected in some areas by Tuesday morning.
Officials recommend motorists monitor forecasts closely and allow extra travel time, particularly during the Monday evening commute. East winds could worsen visibility, and untreated roads may become icy.
Monday night’s snow is just the start of a wintry week. Tuesday will see highs near 28°F with a 90% chance of snow, potentially creating additional hazards during the morning commute. Conditions will improve midweek, with sunny skies on Wednesday and temperatures reaching 33°F.
Residents are advised to prepare for fluctuating temperatures, with lows dropping to single digits on Wednesday night. By Thursday, milder weather returns, with highs near 38°F under partly sunny skies.
For those traveling through the region, keep an eye on updated forecasts and road conditions to stay safe during changing weather patterns. Emergency kits and tire chains are recommended for long-distance travelers.
Stay informed and plan accordingly as wintry weather continues across Colorado’s plains this week.
