Seattle, WA – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday through 10 a.m. Sunday for areas at or above 3,500 feet in the Cascades, including popular mountain passes and ski areas.

The National Weather Service reports that snow accumulations of up to 12 inches are expected in the West Slopes North Cascades, North Central Cascades, and South Central Cascades, potentially creating slick and hazardous conditions on roads, bridges, and overpasses.

Freezing rain may occur briefly at Snoqualmie Pass late Saturday night into Sunday morning, adding to travel risks. Key areas affected include Mount Baker Ski Area, Stevens Pass, Crystal Mountain Ski Area, and Paradise near Mount Rainier.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution, and prepare for possible power outages. Travelers should also check for road conditions and closures before heading into the mountains.
