Green Bay, WI – Frigid temperatures and sub-zero wind chills are gripping Wisconsin this weekend, prompting hazardous weather alerts and safety warnings. Residents should prepare for bitterly cold conditions, with wind chills dropping as low as -20°F through Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), wind chills between 0°F and -20°F are expected across northern and central Wisconsin. The coldest periods will occur overnight and early Sunday, with areas west of Duluth, MN, seeing temperatures as low as -30°F. These conditions pose risks of frostbite on exposed skin in less than 30 minutes.

The NWS advises minimizing outdoor exposure, dressing in multiple warm layers, and covering exposed skin. If traveling, motorists should carry emergency kits and ensure vehicles are winter-ready. Key highways like I-41 and US-29 in the Green Bay area may see slick conditions due to freezing winds.

Looking ahead, Sunday’s high in Green Bay will reach 21°F, offering slight relief before another cold night with lows of 13°F. Conditions improve Monday, with a high near 26°F under partly sunny skies. Temperatures will remain steady through midweek, with highs in the low 20s and mostly clear skies.

While Wisconsin avoids snowfall this weekend, sub-zero winds make outdoor activities hazardous. Stay updated by checking the NWS website or local broadcasts for the latest advisories.
