Aurora, IL – Aurora police are investigating a shooting on the city’s near east side that left one man critically injured.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 6:52 p.m. Monday in the 0-49 block of North Anderson Street. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics from the Aurora Fire Department transported the man to a nearby hospital. No additional injuries were reported.
According to the Aurora Police Department, detectives and forensic technicians arrived shortly after to investigate the scene. Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances behind the shooting and collect evidence.
The investigation remains active. Police encourage anyone with information to contact their Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 or www.p3tips.com/135. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to arrests.
