Humoke, AR – An Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) worker died Thursday morning while repairing a roadway in Lonoke County.
Charles “Tony” Glover, 39, of Jacksonville, was working along State Highway 13 south of Humoke when a 2025 Toyota Sequoia struck him around 10 a.m. Authorities say Glover was filling potholes near a stopped ARDOT dump truck when the southbound vehicle failed to stop, fatally hitting him.
According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP), Troop A Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the incident. No further details about the driver of the Sequoia have been released.
State officials expressed condolences to Glover’s family and urged drivers to exercise caution in work zones. “Safety is paramount. We must remain vigilant to protect the lives of those maintaining our roads,” an ARDOT spokesperson said.
ASP encourages anyone with information to contact them immediately.
