Fort Wayne, IN – A quick-moving snowfall will impact much of Northern Indiana this evening, primarily along and south of Route 30. The National Weather Service reports snowfall will begin after the evening commute, tapering off by early morning.

Accumulations are expected to range from 1 to 2 inches, with the heaviest snowfall likely near Route 24. Areas further north may see lesser amounts. Officials urge drivers to proceed cautiously, as snow-covered roads could lead to slick conditions overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, this weather pattern is part of a fast-moving system tracking eastward. Roadways, especially untreated surfaces, may become hazardous during peak snowfall hours.

Residents planning to travel tonight are encouraged to check local weather updates and prepare for slower commutes. The Indiana Department of Transportation suggests reducing speed and increasing following distance during snowy conditions.
