Saturday Forecast: Central Wisconsin Faces Bitter Cold With Wind Chills as Low as -16 Degrees

Green Bay, WI – Residents across northeast Wisconsin should prepare for dangerously cold conditions as sub-zero wind chills move in Friday night. Wind chills as low as -16 degrees are expected early Saturday, particularly along the I-41 corridor. The National Weather Service warns that frostbite can occur on exposed skin within minutes.

According to the NWS Green Bay office, the coldest period will be early Saturday morning, with wind chills ranging from -5 to -15 degrees. Temperatures Friday will peak at 20 degrees, but brisk northwest winds will make it feel much colder. Saturday’s high will only reach 18 degrees, with mostly sunny skies offering little warmth.

Residents are urged to take precautions by dressing in layers, limiting outdoor exposure, and keeping pets indoors. Drivers along I-41 and secondary roads should stay alert, as light snow flurries Thursday night could create isolated slippery spots.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain frigid through Sunday, with lows dipping into the single digits. Monday and Tuesday will see slight relief, with highs climbing into the mid-20s under partly sunny skies.

If you must travel this weekend, ensure your vehicle is winter-ready by maintaining tire pressure and keeping an emergency kit on hand. The NWS recommends monitoring updated forecasts and taking wind chill advisories seriously to avoid cold-related health risks.
