Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana residents should prepare for light snowfall Thursday evening as a weak clipper system moves through the region. Snow accumulations of 1-2 inches are expected in northern parts of the area, with lower totals farther south.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, snow will begin in northwest Indiana Thursday afternoon, spreading southeastward by evening. Heaviest snowfall is anticipated between 8 p.m. and midnight before tapering off by early Friday morning. Northern counties, including Kokomo and Lafayette, are most likely to see the higher totals.
Minor travel disruptions are possible Thursday evening, especially during the heaviest snowfall. Drivers are urged to exercise caution on untreated roads and plan for extra travel time.
Temperatures will remain below freezing, increasing the likelihood of slick conditions. Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from local weather services and prepare accordingly.
