State College, PA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Cambria, Somerset, and McKean counties starting early Wednesday. Snowfall totals of 1 to 6 inches and winds gusting up to 55 mph are expected.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory begins at 4 a.m. Wednesday for Cambria and Somerset counties and extends to McKean County at 7 a.m. Hazardous conditions will impact morning and evening commutes, with slippery roads and possible power outages due to falling tree branches. Higher snowfall totals will occur on ridgetops, while lake effect snow bands may increase accumulation in McKean County.
Drivers are advised to slow down and exercise caution. Winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines, with potential for outages lasting into Thursday morning.
