Weekend Snow Possible in Nebraska After a Mild Start to 2025

Hastings, NE – Nebraska residents can expect a mix of weather patterns as 2025 begins. New Year’s Eve temperatures will drop to the teens and low 20s, with partly cloudy skies. New Year’s Day brings warmer conditions, ranging from the mid-30s to mid-40s, before colder air returns later in the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, light snow is possible Thursday morning in the northeast part of the state. Another system may bring more significant snowfall starting Saturday night, with 20% to 40% chances of accumulation. Winds will remain calm throughout the week, reaching 10-15 mph at times.

Friday will feature colder conditions, with highs near 39 degrees and lows dropping to 5 degrees, factoring in wind chills. Snowfall probabilities increase Saturday evening as temperatures plummet to single digits. Officials recommend staying updated with forecasts as the weekend approaches.

Prepare for rapidly changing conditions by dressing warmly and monitoring road conditions, especially if snow develops as predicted.
