The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will dip to 18 degrees by midnight, which is warmer than the average but still cold enough to require heavy layers and proper precautions.

According to the National Weather Service, skies will remain mostly clear tonight, with calm winds creating brisk conditions for outdoor events. Anyone planning to travel should check road conditions, as freezing temperatures could create icy patches, particularly on elevated routes.

New Year’s Day will see sunny skies and a high near 55 degrees, offering a pleasant start to 2025. Lows on Wednesday night will drop to 23 degrees under clear skies. The extended forecast predicts mild and mostly sunny conditions through the weekend, with highs reaching the upper 50s and lows hovering in the mid-20s.

For those driving along major highways, such as I-40 or Highway 89, be cautious of overnight frost, especially in shaded areas. Residents are encouraged to insulate outdoor pipes and ensure pets are sheltered from the cold.
