Burlington, VT – Snow squalls and gusty winds are creating hazardous travel conditions across Vermont, with slick roads and near-zero visibility expected through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the arctic cold front moving through the region will bring bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds up to 24 mph. Snow showers will taper off by Wednesday afternoon, but frigid temperatures and icy conditions will persist.

Drivers should exercise caution, as roadways may become treacherous, especially along I-89 and I-91. The forecast for the rest of the week includes scattered snow showers through Friday, followed by a brief period of clearer skies over the weekend.

Temperatures will remain bitterly cold, with highs barely reaching the teens and overnight lows dipping near zero. Wind chills could drop into negative double digits.

Residents are urged to limit travel during snow squalls, allow extra braking distance, and stay updated with local forecasts.
