Fort Wayne, IN – Indiana residents should prepare for an active weather pattern this week, with rain, snow, and potential flooding due to ice jams.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30s. A significant storm system moves in late Thursday, bringing rain through Friday. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will fall, transitioning the rain into a rain-snow mix.

The National Weather Service warns that river ice could begin breaking up due to warming temperatures, increasing the risk of ice jams and localized flooding this weekend. Saturday brings a brief dry period with mostly sunny skies and a high of 32°F before another rain system develops Sunday.

Residents near rivers should monitor water levels and prepare for potential flooding. Stay informed at weather.gov.
