Oklahoma Storm Alert: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms to Hit Tulsa Area Wednesday Night

Tulsa, OK – A strong storm system is set to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms to eastern Oklahoma late Wednesday into Thursday. Forecasters warn of heavy rainfall, with totals between 3 to 4 inches in some areas, increasing the risk of localized flooding.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, rain chances will rise Wednesday evening, peaking overnight into Thursday morning. Some storms may bring isolated lightning and gusty winds. Commuters along I-44 should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility during peak travel hours.

Looking ahead, rain tapers off Thursday night, with drier conditions expected Friday. Temperatures will fluctuate, with highs in the upper 50s midweek before dipping into the low 30s at night. The weekend brings a brief warm-up, with highs near 60°F and mostly sunny skies.

Residents should monitor weather updates and prepare for potential flooding in low-lying areas. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time during storms.
