Binghamton, NY – After a brief period of calm and warmer temperatures today, snow showers are expected to sweep through Binghamton tonight. Residents should prepare for a snowy start to the weekend, as lake-effect snow ramps up over the region.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will likely begin after midnight and may leave up to an inch of fresh accumulation by early Saturday. Temperatures tonight will dip to 18°F, accompanied by calm winds, creating chilly conditions for those venturing out.

Saturday will remain mostly cloudy with additional snow showers possible in the afternoon, particularly along higher elevations. Temperatures are forecasted to peak at 28°F, with precipitation chances around 50%. Saturday night could bring lighter snow activity, with little accumulation expected.

Sunday will offer a slight reprieve as clouds linger and temperatures climb to a high of 33°F. Early morning snow showers are possible but unlikely to accumulate significantly. By Monday, Binghamton residents can expect partly sunny skies and temperatures reaching 33°F before cooling off again Tuesday with a high near 22°F.

Travelers along major routes, such as I-81 and NY-17, should exercise caution this weekend, especially during overnight hours when visibility may decrease due to snowfall. Be sure to check local forecasts before heading out.
