Kentucky, MO/IL Border – A major winter storm is set to bring 5 to 7 inches of snow across the Kentucky-Missouri-Illinois border beginning tonight. Areas to the north of Interstate 64 are expected to see slightly lower totals of 4 to 5 inches. The snow will continue into Friday, creating widespread travel disruptions.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, KY, the storm will intensify overnight and persist through early Friday evening. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect, with residents advised to prepare for hazardous travel conditions. Meteorologists report strong confidence in snowfall projections, with high likelihoods of impactful amounts exceeding 4 inches.

Snowfall is expected to accumulate rapidly starting late tonight, with areas west of Paducah experiencing snow after 10 p.m. Eastern regions, including Madisonville and Evansville, will see snow by 3 a.m. Friday. Snowfall will likely end between 5 and 10 p.m. Friday evening, depending on the location.

Transportation officials urge drivers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. The snowfall, coupled with freezing temperatures, will make roads icy and dangerous. Officials recommend stocking emergency supplies and monitoring updates.
