Midland, TX – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for West Texas and southeast New Mexico, bringing hazardous conditions through Friday morning. Forecasts predict up to two inches of snow and ice accumulation up to one-tenth of an inch.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory will last until 6 a.m. CST Friday, impacting cities including Midland, Odessa, and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. Gusty winds of up to 45 mph are expected in higher elevations.

The weather poses a significant risk to travelers. Bridges and overpasses will likely become slick, increasing the danger of accidents during the Thursday morning and evening commutes. The hazardous mix of snow, ice, and strong winds could also cause downed tree branches in affected areas.
