Fort Worth, TX – North Texas residents are under a Winter Storm Watch from late Wednesday night through Friday afternoon as a powerful winter storm threatens to bring a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, areas across north-central and northeast Texas could see total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, accompanied by a light glaze of ice, with some locations potentially receiving up to 0.1 inches of accumulation.
The affected area includes major cities such as Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton, and Arlington, as well as smaller towns like Paris, Decatur, and Rockwall. The storm is expected to make roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, slick and hazardous, making travel conditions dangerous, especially during Thursday’s morning and evening commutes.
Officials are advising residents to monitor the latest weather updates and prepare for potential delays. Travelers are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel and equip their vehicles with winter emergency kits, including blankets, flashlights, water, and other essentials, in case they become stranded.
This storm could have widespread impacts, and residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions as conditions develop.
