Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa can expect a couple of opportunities for snowfall as 2025 kicks off.
Snow is expected to arrive in the area on Thursday, with a potential accumulation of trace to three inches.
Southeast Iowa is anticipated to be impacted by higher amounts of snow, while the accumulation is expected to decrease as you head farther south.
As the week comes to a close and the weekend begins, we can expect relatively calm weather on Friday and Saturday. However, the forecast becomes more uncertain after that.
As of now, we anticipate that the region will receive several inches of snow throughout Sunday. However, we are currently uncertain about the exact amount of accumulation.
Most people can expect to see at least two inches of snow, although it is unclear if the region will experience more or less accumulation than that.
Next week, we can expect a significant drop in temperatures, with highs reaching only the teens and lows dropping to the single digits.
Regardless of the amount of snowfall we experience this weekend, the bitter cold will undoubtedly settle in.
The wind chill values will eventually fall below zero too.
