After originating in Alberta, Canada, on Sunday, December 1, it will move near Lake Superior from Monday, December 2, to Tuesday, December 3, before turning east, according to AccuWeather.
AccuWeather predicts 1 to 3 inches of snowfall in regions highlighted in the lightest shade of blue in the figure above, with 3 to 6 inches predicted further inland.
Some areas (marked in the deepest blue), including northern New York and western Pennsylvania, may experience 6 inches to a foot.
The days preceding the arrival of the system will be busy.
Monday will be largely sunny, with temperatures ranging from the high 30s to low 40s with strong winds.
It will be cool and dry on Tuesday, with mostly sunny skies.
Following a partly sunny morning, clouds will rise throughout the day on Wednesday. Snow showers will expand after tonight as the system moves from west to east.
