PLANO, Texas (TCN) — Police arrested a Los Angeles man at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport after they found the body of an Illinois man in the backyard of a Texas home this week.
According to the Plano Police Department, on Tuesday, Aug. 27, officers responded to a residence on Bending Oak Trail, where they found 69-year-old Patrick King deceased. In their release, police did not say how he died, but a spokeswoman with the department told KXAS-TV that King suffered blunt force trauma. The medical examiner’s office will confirm his cause of death.
Police identified 39-year-old Andrew Swetland as the primary suspect. WFAA-TV reports that officials arrested him at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Police told the news source that Swetland and King knew each other, but they did not specify further details about their relationship.
According to KXAS, the suspect’s brother-in-law owns the Bending Oak Trail home. King was allegedly visiting the homeowner before his death.
Swetland remains held in the Collin County Jail on a charge of murder.
