The crew of a tugboat had a close call when their vessel collided with a tanker ship in Louisiana’s Mississippi River, causing it to sink.
Fortunately, they were swiftly rescued, and the river remains open, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne was alerted about the incident near the Hale Boggs Memorial Bridge in Luling, Louisiana, on Sunday night.
In a Facebook post at around 10 p.m., Champagne mentioned that initial reports suggested that all the crew members on the tugboat had been successfully rescued.
