Fundraiser Launched for Family of Wichita Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident
An online fundraiser has been initiated to support the family of 21-year-old Andrew Graves, who tragically died after being struck by a car in east Wichita early Saturday morning.
According to Wichita police, the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. in the 900 block of South Oliver near Lincoln. Preliminary investigations revealed that a northbound driver on Oliver hit a pedestrian, while another southbound motorist reported that the pedestrian was dressed in all-black clothing, making him less visible.
Graves was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
Family members identified Graves as the victim and shared that he had been celebrating his 21st birthday at the time of the accident. He leaves behind a 4-month-old son.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by Graves’ sister describes him as “the life of the party, a vibrant soul with humor and extroverted energy,” and aims to assist the family with expenses during this difficult time.
