The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an active recall on 12 different nut, snack, and packaged food products sold in nine states due to the presence of undeclared allergens on their packaging.
The affected products, under the Cal Yee’s, Cal Yee Farm, and Boa Vista Orchards brands, were sold in clear plastic pouches or containers in various sizes. These snacks were available both online and in stores across the following states: Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The recall includes a range of products with different sizes, UPC numbers, and specific allergens that were not declared on the packaging. The undeclared allergens include milk, soy, wheat, sesame, food dye FD&C Yellow #6, and almonds. Individuals with allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients may face serious health risks, including anaphylaxis, which can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, trouble breathing, tightness in the throat, and in extreme cases, cardiac arrest.
If you have purchased any of the recalled snacks and have allergies to any of the above ingredients, it’s important to check your packaged goods immediately. If your product is included in the recall, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
For further information or questions regarding the recall, consumers can contact Cal Yee Farm LLC at 707-425-5327 or email [email protected]. The customer service hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST. If you experience signs of an allergic reaction or anaphylactic shock, call 911 immediately.
