Video Game Dispute Leads to Stabbing in Lowndes County
A heated argument over a football video game escalated into violence in Lowndes County, Mississippi, leaving one person injured and another facing charges.
According to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on the evening of Monday, Dec. 9, at a residence in the 1400 block of Drake Circle in New Hope. Witnesses reported that Leandrae Richey, 31, became embroiled in an argument with the victim while playing a video game. The altercation turned physical when Richey allegedly stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where they underwent surgery for their injuries.
On Tuesday morning, Richey surrendered to authorities. He has since been charged with aggravated assault as the investigation continues.
