‘the Fry Cooks, Cashiers All Want To Come Yelling At Me’

According to an Ohio man, he was reportedly attacked by multiple McDonald’s employees after expressing his dissatisfaction with an incorrect order.

According to WCMH, Karrigan Norwood claims that he suffered a broken facial bone after allegedly being assaulted by three McDonald’s employees.

On October 17th, Norwood visited the McDonald’s drive-thru. However, upon receiving his order, he noticed that the restaurant had made a mistake. In an attempt to rectify the situation, Norwood decided to drive back through the drive-thru and ask for the correct order. When he asked to speak to the manager, he was met with a response instructing him to return with a more positive attitude.

“Everybody in the crew, person who took my order, the fry cooks, cashiers all want to come yelling at me at the window,” he told WCMH.

According to Norwood, he stepped out of the line and then returned so that the people behind him could receive their orders. However, he claims that five employees from the restaurant came out, grabbed him, and started punching him.

After the altercation, the man sought immediate medical attention at the emergency room. Upon examination, healthcare professionals confirmed that he had suffered a fractured orbital bone and would require surgery to address the injury.

“I had to undergo a titanium implant,” Norwood shared with the outlet. “I still experience some residual effects like double vision, and my lens is sensitive to light, which is why I wear glasses.”

Two individuals, Cornelious Goodrich and Torshawn Williams, have been taken into custody following the incident. They are currently facing assault charges. In addition to them, Cedric Love, another employee involved in the incident, is wanted for assault charges, but has not been apprehended yet. This information was reported by WCMH in November.

In this particular case, it is unusual for the workers to be the ones initiating disputes over drive-thru orders, as such incidents typically involve dissatisfied customers.

In November, a couple from Virginia found themselves in legal trouble when the husband was accused of physically assaulting a MOD Pizza employee. The reason for the attack? The employee had apparently made a mistake with the wife’s order.

In October, a Georgia sheriff faced criticism when body camera footage from a March 2023 incident emerged. During the incident, he called in deputies because his order at Burger King had been incorrectly prepared.
