True Taos Radio 93.5 (KNCE) successfully raised a record-breaking $43,000 during its third annual radio fundraiser benefiting DreamTree Project. The event, which took place over eight hours, supported DreamTree’s critical mission to provide shelter, food, and essential services for individuals in crisis throughout northern New Mexico.
The fundraiser, hosted by KNCE’s Howie Roemer alongside DreamTree Project staff, was held in conjunction with National Homeless Youth Awareness & Runaway Prevention Month. Listeners contributed through call-ins and online pledge forms, with over half of the funds coming from generous listener donations.
The funds raised will support DreamTree’s vital services, including transitional housing, emergency youth shelter, and the expansion of NEST, the adult emergency shelter. NEST, which stands for “Navigating Emergency Support Together,” will be transformed into a comprehensive crisis resource center, offering showers, laundry facilities, case management services, and dedicated dormitories for men, women, and gender-expansive individuals. This expansion will enhance DreamTree’s ability to provide critical support to those in need.
