Camden County Man Charged In Fatal Crash

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ.- On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay reported that a 27-year-old Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and charged in connection with a Gloucester City motor vehicle crash that injured seven, one fatally, that occurred on December 29, 2024.

     On Sunday, December 29, 2024, shortly after 2:00 p.m., members of the Gloucester City Police Department responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting a serious motor vehicle crash in the area of Crescent Boulevard and Klemm Avenue in the City.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a two-vehicle crash; as a result of the collision, seven people were transported to area hospitals for treatment. 

St. John Initially Charged With Driving Under The Influence

     During the initial investigation by responding Police Officers, determined that a vehicle driven by William St. John, 27, of Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, struck the other vehicle and then fled the scene, and returned a short time later and was arrested and charged for driving under the influence.

     One of the victims in the crash, identified as Melina Debosse, 62, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, tragically succumbed to injuries she sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased at Cooper University Hospital on January 2, 2025.

     Upon Ms. Dubosse’s death, William St. John was taken into custody and charged with second-degree Death by Auto. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office did not release if St. John was jailed on the charge.
