Suspected Minnesota Bank Robber Apprehended In Wisconsin


A man believed to be responsible for a bank robbery in Minnesota has been apprehended by authorities in Sparta, Wisconsin.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspect on Tuesday for his involvement in a bank robbery in the Twin Cities on the same day.

The suspect in question has been identified as Cory M. Billstrom, a 51-year-old resident of Janesville, WI.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was informed by the Bloomington Police that the suspect might be in the Village of Wilton, located approximately 47 miles east of La Crosse, as stated in a news release.

Law enforcement swiftly responded to the area and apprehended Billstrom outside of a residence without any untoward incidents following a brief investigation, as mentioned in the news release.

Billstrom, who also had an active arrest warrant in Wisconsin, was apprehended for both the warrant and suspicion of charges related to the robbery at the undisclosed Bloomington bank.

According to the news release, Billstrom is currently held in the Monroe County Jail in Sparta, WI.

He is currently awaiting extradition to Minnesota, where authorities anticipate he will face formal charges in relation to the bank robbery.
