Victims of an alleged con man named Robert Giuliano express their disillusionment upon discovering that he has been released from jail.
“I feel like I’ve been victimized twice, essentially,” said one of the victims.
Giuliano was apprehended in Scottsdale recently following a tip received by local law enforcement about his outstanding felony warrant from New York. He had earned a spot on the New York Department of Correction’s Most Wanted Fugitive list for crimes including forgery, grand larceny, and identity theft.
According to the website, Giuliano, who is known for targeting women in romance scams, is described as a ‘multi-state’ offender. He was extradited from Arizona to New York.
“He knows what he’s doing,” the victim said confidently, acknowledging the professionalism of the individual in question.
Arizona’s Family has verified with the New York Department of Corrections that Giuliano has been released back into society. According to our sources, a Bronx Supreme Court Judge granted his release on January 2nd, and he is currently on parole.
Giuliano made his first scheduled report on Monday, according to a spokesperson for the department.
“I feel like we’ve come full circle,” expressed the victim.
According to local attorney Benjamin Taylor, who is not involved in the case, this development is considered standard.
According to Taylor, individuals with minimal criminal history may be granted release and remain free until their trial begins, as the principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is upheld by judges.
According to Taylor, Giuliano is facing non-violent crimes and may not have a significant criminal history, which could have influenced the judge’s decision to grant their release.
Victims from Arizona and out-of-state are expressing a deep sense of disappointment with the system.
“It can be quite challenging to remain in the dark, as you are unsure about what will unfold. This sense of uncertainty can be both frustrating and unsettling,” expressed the victim.
Giuliano is scheduled to appear before a judge for his ultimate parole revocation hearing in April.
According to victims, Giuliano has already been in contact with some of them, assuring them that he will repay them.
