‘Don’t be such a f—ing nerd, bro’: Hooters girl seen in bodycam flirting fail during DUI stop

Body camera footage shows a Florida woman flirting with a police officer — and failing — during a traffic stop.

Indeed, Sophia Ross, 22, acknowledged the device on the cop’s chest.

“Show it to the bodycam,” she said, while lifting her sweater to reveal her Hooters shirt.

Ross is charged in Sarasota County, with having a BAC greater than .15. According to documents, police noted the original call came in at around 1:54 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2024. A breath sample at 3:12 a.m. returned a BAC of .330, cops said. The second sample allegedly returned .318.

Records show she has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Thursday.

According to documents, a witness claimed to see the suspect vehicle stopping at green lights, striking several curbs, hitting a median, and even going in the wrong lane twice.

She ultimately stopped at 2nd Street and Orange Avenue, staying there until police arrived, Sarasota police said.

“Ofc. Knight and I arrived on scene and observed the described vehicle stopped in the turn lane to go east on 2nd St,” the police report says, noting that officers blocked her in. “Once we were stopped with our overhead lights on, the driver, who appeared to be sleeping, woke up and started to drive towards us. The driver did stop before striking our vehicle.”

They described Ross as smelling of alcohol, appearing off-balance, slurring her words, moving slowly and “acting lethargic.”

“I am under the influence, but I did not drive,” she said on video. “Swear to God.”

She repeatedly denied driving, claiming her friend drove her to the area.

“That’s not what happened,” the officer said.

Eventually, he attempted to have Ross perform sobriety tests.

“I will do anything for you, daddy,” she replied. “God damn. You in that suit, I will do f—ing anything for you. Sorry.”

“That’s alright,” he said, before trying to bring the conversation back to the sobriety test.

“In this f—king suit, brother!” she exclaimed.

The first test concerned her eyes, but she did not comply, instead questioning why he was doing the test because he knew she was drunk.

Eventually, things escalated to the point of Ross lifting her sweater. Though friendly, and even laughing, the officer kept her from touching him.

“Don’t be such a f—ing nerd, bro,” she said, later mocking him by repeating, “I am a nerd!”

The officer warned her that everything is being recorded.

“Anything we do is recorded, and anybody can see that,“ he said. “Mom, dad, grandma, family.”

“You think I give a f—?” she said.
