NEWKIRK — The case against Abuobeid was dismissed in Kay County District Court on Jan. 2, 2025 on a motion made by the state. The alleged victim requested the case be dismissed. The case was filed on May 12, 2021.

Warrant with bond endorsed at $100,000 issued for OKC contractor

NEWKIRK — A warrant with bond endorsed at $100,000 remains issued for Ahmad Mustafa Hussein Abuobeid, 46, Oklahoma City, by the Kay County District Court.

Abuobeid is charged with a felony count of obtaining property by trick, deception, false statements.

Blackwell police report in the affidavit that Ponca City resident Mohammed Nemer purchased property at 121 west Doolin in order to open a Golden Chick Restaurant.

Nemer and Katee Weidner, the co-owner of the business, reportedly paid Abuobeid $17, 500 to remodel the building.

Once the demolition of the building was completed, Abuobeid reportedly went back to Oklahoma City.

Nemer and Weidner reportedly began sending him wire transfers in August of 2020 totaling $82,000 for the purchase of business supplies.

The last transaction was in November 2020 and Abuobeid reportedly never returned to Blackwell to do any work and no supplies were received. The last communication with Abuobeid was Dec. 14, 2020.

Blackwell police contacted Oklahoma City police for assistance.

The charge in Kay County was filed on May 12, 2021. Anyone with information on Abuobeid’s location is urged to contact authorities.
