Concerns Grow as China and Russia Outpace U.S. in Hypersonic Missile Race
According to the report of Washington Times, in a recent meeting in Congress top U.S. intelligence and defense leaders talked about worries over China and Russia big steps forward in super fast-missile technology. They said China now has the most hypersonic missiles in the world which can hit U.S. targets with both regular and nuclear bombs. Russia also has three types of these super-fast missiles and one was even used in fighting in Ukraine. This has made people scared that the U.S. might be falling behind in this big race for powerful weapons.

U.S. Falls Behind in Hypersonic Missile Race Amid Concerns Over Nuclear Deployment
Even though they know they need to catch up fast recent test failures showed they have a lot of work to do. Jeffrey McCormick who works in intelligence talked about how China has made a lot of progress with its super-fast missiles. He pointed out the DF 17 missile which China started using in 2020. It can reach U.S. military bases in the western Pacific. With this race for super-fast missiles getting more intense leaders have to make sure the U.S. is ready and can keep up.
