Six-Month Extension of U.S.-China Science and Technology Agreement Amid Ongoing Negotiations and Critics Concerns

According to the  report of USA, the United States and China have decided to keep working together on science and technology for another six months. This was announced by the U.S. State Department on Thursday after they talked about making the agreement stronger. This agreement called the Science and Technology Agreement has been around since 1979 when Jimmy Carter was the U.S. President and Deng Xiaoping was the Chinese leader. It helps the two countries work on science projects together. This extension shows they’re still trying to deal with problems like China rules on data and how open they are about their scientific discoveries.

They worry that China doesn’t share enough information and might use what they learn for military purposes. This shows that even though they have differences they still think it’s important to keep collaborating on science and technology.
