Residents in Washington Will Receive $1,200 in Tax Refunds Under Working Families Tax Credit

Around 400,000 qualified residents in Washington will start receiving $1,200 in tax refunds as part of the Working Families Tax Credit.

$1,200 in Tax Refunds Working Families Tax Credit

Around 400,000 residents in Washington who completed the application last year for the Working Families Tax Credit will receive an amount of up to $1,200 in tax refunds. The amount to be received depends on the number of qualifying children and their income level.

In a published article in MARCA, undocumented workers and others who use an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) can also receive tax refunds. Provided that they hit the application on December 31, 2023 and they filed their federal tax return.

Requirements for Receiving the Working Families Tax Credit

According to a published article in The U.S. Sun, individuals and families in Washington will receive the tax refunds if they meet the following:

  • Have a valid Social Security Number or Personal Taxpayer Identification Number.
  • Lived in Washington a minimum of 183 days in 2022 (more than half the year).
  • Be over age 25 and under age 65 or have a qualifying child in 2022.
  • Filed a 2022 federal income tax return.Are eligible to claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) on your 2022 tax return.
  • (EITC) on their 2022 tax return (or would qualify for the EITC but file with an ITIN)

Furthermore, residents in the state can check their eligibility and file through the Washington Department of Revenue.
