The court ordered Meta to deliver information thru email and notifications on their platform about receiving settlement money to every Facebook user. Users must pass the qualifications before claiming the payment.
U.S. Residents Who Are Using Facebook Accounts Between May 2007 And December 2022 Will Be Eligible For The Payment
Social Platform will be sending an email in which they are confirming the Illegibility of the program. This program is intended for the 87 million Facebook users affected by the “Facebook Data Breach”.
In the 2018 lawsuit, Facebook was accused of inappropriate sharing of the personal data of 87 million Facebook users in Cambridge Analytica during the campaign of Donald Trump in 2016.
Meta denied liability and wrongdoing of the said company but they agree to pay out $725 million for the affected Facebook users. That kind of data leak is considered a big problem because it is a turning point for people’s trust the Facebook and other social media platforms.

How Much Money Would They Receive After They Qualified For The Pay Out?
The amount of money they will receive will be depending on how many of the $87 million Facebook users will apply to the settlement. To receive the money, you should fill out an online form that is available from the settlement administrator.
We cannot say the exact money that will be receiving, but some statements said it would be $7 below. It could be better than nothing. The actual amount would be coming from $725 million minus administrative and legal costs, which could be 25%. The net settlement will be divided by the 87 million Facebook users.
