An Instagram video showed a man claiming that the Hurricane Hilary was man-made through geoengineering technology. However, experts maintain that the technology is not yet developed enough to create large-scale weather events such as a hurricane.
On August 18, a video circulating on Instagram reportedly showed a man claiming that the Hurricane Hilary was man-made. Furthermore, the man also mentioned patents for controlling Hurricane Hilary including a website named Weather Modification Incorporated, the National Weather Modification Policy Act of 1976, and a map on the Geoengineering Monitor website.An article in USA Today states that several other individuals also agreed with the original poster’s claims in the video’s comment section, implying that Hurricane Hilary is being modified. Further reports say to date, the video obtained more than 11,000 likes and similar versions are being shared on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) as well.

Hurricane Hilary Is Not Man-Made
However, according to an article in Yahoo, experts maintain that the geoengineering technology is not yet developed enough to be able to create large-scale weather events such as the Hurricane Hilary. Reports say on August 20, Hurricane Hilary was reduced to a tropical storm before it passed the Southwest region of the U.S. which made some individuals think that the hurricane was being modified.
