Alaska’s Senators Confirm U.S. Navy Destroyers Deployment

According to a joint news release issued by Alaska’s two Republican senators, Dan Sullivan and Lisa Murkowski, a total of eleven military vessels from China and Russia were detected operating in proximity to Alaska’s territorial waters last week, a published article reported. The presence of these vessels necessitated a response to maintain regional stability and safeguard national interests.

Four U.S. Navy destroyers were dispatched to the region in response to the foreign naval activity. The move was characterized by Senator Sullivan as a countermeasure against what he termed “authoritarian aggression” led by Moscow and Beijing.
